Our food and drinks arrive. I pick at my salad. “We are friends. I have been back in town for a few days. I am staying with someone else. His name is Isaac. He bought my parent's house and is renovating it,” I explain. I finally take a bite of lettuce.

“Yeah, I saw the sign the other day. I'm sorry about that,” Kylie says. “Having your parents divorce must really suck.” She reaches over and squeezes my hand.

“Thanks,” I reply softly.

“So, tell me more about this Isaac guy. What is going on with you two? I still don't understand why you didn't stay with me?” Kylie persists in a disappointed tone. I try not to giggle.

“To be honest, I didn't want anyone to know I was back. I was going to stay by myself and look at the house, enjoy the memories, but then I met Isaac. He told me there was no way I could stay at home, so I had to stay with him,” I explain while picking at my food.

Kylie is suddenly distracted. She stares at me with wide eyes. “Ooh, tell me more. Is there something going on between the two of you?” she asks. We drop our voices lower to keep our conversation private.

I stare at the tabletop. “I don't know. I don't think so.”

“What do you mean? You two like each other, don't you?” Kylie asks. I hear the ice clink in her glass.

I take a deep breath and get ready to tell her the truth. “Well, I mean, there is a big age difference between us. I do kind of like him, so I guess I want something to happen between us, but I just don't know.” It feels good to share my confusion and put my feelings into words.

Kylie sits back and shakes her head. “If you want him that bad, then just go for it. That's what I would do,” she admits bluntly.

“You really think I should?” I ask, looking at her in surprise.

She nods. “Sure. That's what you do when you want something bad enough,” Kylie answers with a smile.

I sit there silently, considering her words for a moment. “Okay, then I guess I will,” I reply. We both smile at each other, then laugh.

“Well, don't just sit here. Go get your man,” Kylie urges. We both laugh again as I hurry out of the restaurant and to my car. My heart is pounding. I'm nervous and excited as I drive back to my old house. I know Isaac will still be there working. He likes to have long full days.

Okay, so I like him, and I want to be with him. I need him to notice me and to take an interest in me. The best way to do that is to seduce him. I abruptly stop at a stop sign. I have no idea how to do that. I'm still a virgin.

I start to panic a little. Maybe this is too big for me to handle, and I should rethink my whole plan. I shake my head. It is too late to back out now. I'll just have to figure it out as I go along.

Chapter Seven - Mia

I pull up outside the house, see that Isaac is still there, and sit in the car for a few minutes to think. I have no idea what I’m going to do. This is crazy, but I know I want to do it. I'm attracted to Isaac, and I want to be around him as much as possible.

As I get out of the car and walk up to the house, I start to get nervous again. My palms get a little sweaty as I reach for the front door. “Relax, you can do this,” I say, encouraging myself. I take a deep breath, then I open the door and walk inside.

I close the door gently behind me. Looking around the house, I see that the bottom floor is empty. I set my purse down then sidestep the tools and construction equipment. The sounds of hammering come from upstairs. I follow the noise and find Isaac working in one of the bedrooms. Freezing, I watch him for a second. He looks good, kind of grungy and rugged right now. I can see the muscles in his forearms and shoulders moving with each swing of the hammer.

Unable to form a complete thought, I stand silently and just watch. When he stops hammering and gets up from where he is crouched on the floor, I notice how nice his butt looks in those Jeans. He walks across the room and looks at some papers on the work bench. He glances around the room. Suddenly, our eyes meet. His jaw drops as he notices me standing out in the hall.

“Mia. Are you alright?” Isaac asks.
